Glaucoma is a potentially blinding eye disease that runs in families. Too often it is invisible because families don’t talk about it.   March 11-17 marks the annual World Glaucoma Week, which aims to raise awareness, alert people to have regular eye checks and help beat Invisible Glaucoma.

Dr Justin Sherwin, Ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist at Peninsula Eye Centre, offers this advice: “Given over 50% of people with glaucoma are unaware of their condition, it is beneficial to have regular checks over the age of 40 years, especially if you have affected family members.”
