At Peninsula Eye Centre, we are committed to providing patients with the best eye care in the Mornington Peninsula, as well as offering value for money and limiting waiting times as much as possible.

Peninsula Eye Centre is a private billing practice and payment is required on the day of consultation.  Medicare rebates are available and we can process your Medicare claim online.

Our consultation fees are as follows:

Full Rate:

First consultation $ 190 Medicare Rebate $ 75.05
Further consultations $ 105 Medicare Rebate $ 37.70
Paediatric consultation $ 250 Medicare Rebate $ 169.05

Pension / Concession Card Holders:

First consultation $ 160 Medicare Rebate $ 75.05
Further consultations $ 90 Medicare Rebate $ 37.70

* NB: Additional charges may be payable if your ophthalmologist requires other testing to be undertaken.

Patients with a DVA Veteran Gold Card are fully covered.  For DVA Veteran White Card holders, you will need to check your specific entitlements to confirm if ophthalmology is covered.

Payment can be made by cash, personal cheque, EFTPOS or credit card (VISA, Mastercard). We regret that we do not accept American Express or Diners.

Eye (Intravitreal) Injection Fees

Eye (Intravitreal) injections are used to treat a variety of retinal conditions including:

  • Wet macular degeneration (age-related macular degeneration or AMD)
  • Diabetic eye disease (including diabetic retinopathy)
  • Retinal vein occlusion (blockage of the small veins in the retina)

Full Rate:

One eye $ 515 Medicare Rebate $ 259.75
Two eyes $ 772.50 Medicare Rebate $ 389.65

Pension / Concession Card Holders:

One eye $ 410 Medicare Rebate $ 259.75
Two eyes $ 615 Medicare Rebate $ 389.65
