
Anneliese Loschiavo
Anneliese gained her Bachelor of Orthoptics Degree from La Trobe University in 1993. Her first position was in a private clinic in Toowoomba, Queensland, where she was the sole orthoptist for a busy cataract surgeon. Upon her return to Melbourne two years later, she worked in a general eye clinic in the western suburbs, which also included paediatric and oncology specialities. After moving to Melbourne’s east, she spent more than ten years in another private clinic engaged in a general ophthalmic and cataract setting.
After relocating to the Mornington Peninsula with her young family in 2016, she joined the team at the Peninsula Eye Centre where she contributes her orthoptic skills to all aspects of the clinic.

Cathy Walker
Cathy completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Orthoptics) in 1989 at La Trobe University. She completed her clinical placements at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH), the Royal Children’s Hospital and other private eye practices in Melbourne where she gained valuable experience in various areas of ophthalmology. Cathy held an orthoptic position at Manningham Eye Clinic before gaining research experience with the Melbourne Visual Impairment Project.
Cathy first joined the team at Peninsula Eye Centre in 1991 where she was involved in the beginnings of VISTAeyes, having had extensive refractive/cataract, retinal and glaucoma clinical experience. She also worked interstate in the Orthoptic/Ocular Motility Clinic at Launceston Eye Hospital. After an extensive break to raise her five children, Cathy re-joined the team at Peninsula Eye Centre in 2015.

Rebecca
Rebecca is an experienced orthoptist who has a subspecialty and interest in Neuro-Orthoptics. Determining what’s disrupting binocular functions, and how they can be non-surgically improved, restored and maintained are key questions comprehensively addressed during a neuro-orthoptic consultation.
Rebecca completed her Bachelor of Orthoptics, La Trobe University, in 1993 and practised Orthoptics at the LaTrobe University Orthoptic Clinic, Austin, Repatriation Hospital and Royal Hobart Hospital. She has worked across various private Ophthalmic clinics in Canberra, Hobart and Melbourne. Rebecca has also taught Orthoptics as an Associate Lecturer at LaTrobe University.
In 1994, Rebecca was awarded the Emmie Russel Prize by Orthoptics Australia for her research, and has published several scientific articals in peer reviewed journals. She has presented scientific papers at national and international conferences. Rebecca has also been involved in the design and research of the Melbourne Initial Screening Test for Maternal Child Health Nurses.
As a current member of Orthoptics Australia and a registered Orthoptist with the Australian Orthoptic Board, Rebecca is passionate about Orthoptics. She has previously held several honorary positions with the Victorian Branch of Orthoptics Australia; Secretary, Scientific Coordinator, and Editor of Newsletter.
In 2022, Rebecca joined the Peninsula Eye Centre team and contributes her Orthoptic knowledge for patients of all ages.

Bruce Kamyab
Bruce completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Masters of Orthoptics at Latrobe University in 2015.
He joined the team at Peninsula Eye Centre in 2018. Bruce sub-specialises in cataract, glaucoma and vitreoretinal pathologies.
